Cherry Ames

Cherry Ames is a very awesome vintage book series.  The books were written and published from 1943-1968. Then, in 2005,  Springer Publishing started publishing some of them as paper backs.
The books were first published by Helen Wells. She decided after writing Cherry Ames, Visiting Nurse. To work on writing something else(Vicki Barr, Flight Stewardess series).  Julie Campbell Tatham took over writing.  Later on, Helen Wells wrote them.
The first Cherry Ames books were made during WWII, so after she graduated; she became an Army Nurse.  During that tme, she was a
  • Flight Nurse
  • Cheif Nurse
  • Veteran's Nurse
  • plus an Army Nurse.
There are twenty-seven books in the series. I have only read what I own, which is twelve of them. I hope to collect them all.
I got some of the information from http://www.series-books.com/cherryames/cherryames.html
More about Cherry Ames later.

Sisters in Time

Sisters in Time is a book series that takes place in different years and places across America.   There are between  16-24 books.  The covers used to look a little different and were sold differently until recently. Then, last August, the covers changed and instead of just one book being sold for a few dollars, four are sold in one set for $10.   You can buy them online and at bookstores.  The books are historical fiction and very interesting.

Samantha Smart: Time Traveler

I finished reading a book called Samantha Smart: Time Traveler by Maxwell Puggle. Of course, like all books, the summary on the back made it seem interesting. It was not. It was boring, and a little confusing.  I see the reason why we never heard of it 'till now!
In the book, Samantha time travels in some Mayan thing, goes to New York City(her home town) in 1931, Montreal, Canada in 1967 and somewhere in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico in 900 A.D.. She also battles and kills shark people.
I think that there are also some grammar and punctuation issues.

Nancy Drew

I love reading Nancy Drew books! I mean, who doesn't(I do not want you to answer :) )?! But there are somethings that most people do not know about the series:
In 1959, the Nancy Drew mysteries were revised and shortened.  The ones that people buy at book stores and such, are the 1959 edition.  Carolyn Keene never was or is a real person. She is a pseudonym created by the company Nancy Drew was first published by. If she were real, she would be between 90-something and 100! The first "Carolyn Keene" was Mildred Wirt Benson.
I am pretty sure that the only original Nancy Drew books available are from Applewood Books and on Ebay.

Our Only May Amelia

I just finished reading the book, Our Only May Amelia. It takes place in 1899 in the Nasel(now Naselle) Settlement in Washington State.  May Amelia Jackson is the main character.  She is twelve years old and has SEVEN brothers!!! She is not ladylike: May likes climbing trees, going fishing and almost never wears dresses.
When she goes to Astoria,Oregon down the river to live with her aunt and uncle, May makes a couple friends.  One of them is Emma Saari.  Emma has Finnish relatives like May and the two get along fine even though they are very different. For example: Emma does not have seven older brothers or live in the middle nowhere and ecspecially, she is very ladylike.  Emma and May go to a dance.  When they get back home,  May's dress is all muddy and dirty!
     What happens next?
